This individual redesign project for The Venue aims to create a new website with a clear information architecture, sublime visual design and user-friendly features.
Time | Feburary - May 2014
Timeframe | 10 weeks
The Venue, Fine Art and Gifts, located at the downtown Bloomington, has art works range from handcrafted jewelry, sculptural pottery to oil, watercolor painting.
The first meeting was set on February 20, the client Dave and I signed for the project contract and discussed the detail requirement further. On the ground of my assumption of offering a reusable, responsive and user-friendly website, the client asked for another separate website for their first “Legend Juried Show”. The web should includes the application information, download documents, link to PayPal.
The current venue page is managed by curator with regular updating. However, there are several problems which might drive unpleasant user experience. For instance, the contents are not categoried, which is lack of options for user but scrolling all way down. The weak interection deisgn web makes user view pictures passively. In order to create a better browsing experience, the web should be interactively.

I would like to display high-quality photos in a more neat and modern way.
